The property of children who do not serve elderly parents will be restored, and children or relatives who live in the old house but do not take care of them will be evicted from the house. Uttar Pradesh Law Commission (UPSLC) has submitted a proposal in this regard to Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath. Pursuant to this, a proposal was submitted to amend the “Parents and Elderly Support and Care Act 2007”.
The proposal states that if an elderly person complains that his children are not looking after him, the registration will be canceled and the property donated by the parents given to his child will be canceled. The proposal also states that if a child or relative lives with them in the elderly home and abuses them. If they don’t take care of them, they will be taken out of the house.
In fact, UPSLC was told in its previous report submitted after studying the law that children often only evict their old parents from their property or have to evict them from their homes. They act, keeping in mind these proposals are made.
The report also indicates that in most cases it was also observed that children occupy a large portion of the property and give the parents a small portion to live in. Therefore, this law is very important for a better life for the elderly.
