The Congress suffered a major setback ahead of the lower house elections in Uttar Pradesh. This blow to Congress came with former Union Minister Jiten Prasada joining the BJP today. A veteran Congress leader, Jiten Prasad, joined the BJP in the presence of Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP MP Anil Baloni.
According to reports, before joining the BJP, veteran UP leader Jitin Prasad met with Federal Home Minister Amit Shah. After joining the BJP, Jiten Prasada said he took the decision very cautiously. During that, he said that if there is any real political party in the country today, it is the BJP, which is institutional, and the rest of the parties are individual.
It is worth mentioning that Jyotiraditya Scindia, the veteran leader of Madhya Pradesh, dealt a huge blow to the Congress by joining the BJP. The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh fell due to Jyotiraditya Scindia.
