The BJP will be part of the government for the first time in Puducherry. Hence, this is the second state in the south after Karnataka where the BJP will be a strong partner. In the elections held here on April 6, the National Democratic Rally won 16 seats in the 30-member assembly.
ARC President Rangaswamy claims to form the government
Of these, 10 AINRC seats led by N. Rangaswamy and the BJP won six seats. On Monday, Rangaswamy met with Deputy Governor Tamilsai Sundarajan to demand the formation of the government.
The Deputy Governor said – Rangaswamy will soon announce the date of the swearing-in
The deputy governor said that Rangaswamy told him he would soon inform him of the date and time of the oath.
Rangaswamy was elected leader of the AINRC legislative party
During the meeting with the Deputy Governor, MLA of Mannadiped, Rangaswamy was also accompanied by former Minister of Persons with Disabilities AD Namasivayam and BJP representative Nirmal Kumar Surana. Earlier in the day, Rangaswamy was elected leader of the legislative ARC party.
The oath will take place on May 7th or 9th.
Party sources said the swearing-in will take place on May 7 or 9. It should be noted that the BJP has fielded candidates for nine seats in the state and won six seats. While its partner AINRC has submitted 16 candidates.
