Everyone is getting two vaccines in India at the moment

As part of India’s efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, two coronavirus vaccines are currently available to the general public in the country. These two vaccines have so far been implanted in India for more than 15 and a half million people. These include health workers, frontline workers, people over 60, and people over 45. Starting May 1, these two vaccines will be given to people over the age of 18.

1. Coffeeshield

The first vaccine, named Covishiedl, is from Oxford-AstraZeneca, which is produced by the Serum India Institute (SII) in India. The serum institute that Coffeeshield makes has lowered vaccine prices for the state government. Now a dose of vaccine will be given to the States of 300 rupees. Some states including UP and Bihar have requested that free vaccines be provided to people over the age of 18. CII has set the price of its vaccine shield in India at Rs 150 for the central government, 300 rupees for the states, and 600 rupees for the open market (exports).

2. Cofaxine

The second vaccine is called Covaxin, which has been fully developed in India. This original vaccine was developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech Limited. Bharat Biotech said its cocaine price would be 600 rupees for the states, 1,200 rupees for the private sector and $ 15 to $ 20 a dose for the open market (exports). Covaxine will also be available to the central government at a rate of Rs 150 per dose. Some states including UP and Bihar have requested that free vaccines be provided to people over the age of 18.

3. Sputnik

After Kovishield of Serum and Kovaxin of Bharat Biotech, the central government has also given the necessary approval to Sputnik V in Russia. The first batch of this vaccine from Russia will arrive in India on May 1. It is believed that RDEF may provide two to three crores of Rs in May. All doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine imported from Russia can be received by state governments and the private sector. There will be no requirement to give 50 percent of the vaccine to the central government, as is the case for Kovichild and Cofficin.

There should be a difference of at least three to four weeks between the first and second dose. According to statistics, this Russian vaccine is 91 percent effective. A foreign company vaccine, Johnson & Johnson (J&J), may be coming to India soon. J&J reported on April 20 that it has sought approval from the Comptroller General of Drugs of India (DCGI) to conduct a translational clinical trial of the single-dose Kovid 19 vaccine. India is expected to have more foreign-made vaccines by September this year. It has two names from Pfizer and Moderna. In the coming months, with the exception of Johnson and Johnson, the government may also approve a Kovid vaccine for these two companies.
