The interim president of the party Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday received the report prepared on the defeat of the Congress party in the assembly elections held in five states and union territories. This report was prepared by the five-member Conference Committee. The report mentions the performance of the party that led to the defeat. According to the sources, the commission in its report made suggestions for strengthening the party after defeat in Assam, Kerala, West Bengal and Puducherry.
The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan is the chairperson of this committee. While Manish Tiwari, Vincent Bala, Salman Khurshid, S. Guthimani are members of the committee.
