A vaccine and drug free of patents in the Corona epidemic: Swadeshi Jagran Manch

Dr. Rajkumar Chaturvedi, Co-Chair of the Department of National Thought at Swadeshi Jagran Manch, said that most of the world’s population today suffers from fear of Corona infection. This is not within everyone’s reach due to the majors’ patent on treating infections and vaccines.

Speaking to reporters online on Tuesday, Chaturvedi said that by granting unlimited rights to some companies to earn profits from the patent, the right to life of four people should be dropped, and it should not be done.

An intense campaign is being launched to make these vaccines and drugs free of patents and transfer their technology. Many of the drugs related to treating Covid are locally produced, but due to the severity of the problem, there are fewer to meet the growing demand.

In the six countries whose adult population has been vaccinated – Israel, America, England, etc., the Corona crisis is nearing an end. Therefore, immediate vaccination of all adult population in the world (about 600 crores) including India is essential. In such a situation, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has launched an intense public awareness campaign demanding that Covid vaccines and drugs be free of patents and that their technology be accessible to all drug manufacturers who are able to produce them, said Dr.

As part of this campaign for universal access to vaccines and drugs across the country as well as outside the country, this campaign is known as “Universal Access to Vaccines and Medicines” (UAVM). Webinars, seminars, demonstrations and communication publicity, including the online signature campaign, continues. The press conference was also spoken by the county organizer in Swadeshi Devendra Bhardwaj, and Regional Publicity Chief Dr Dharamvir Chandel. Indigenous county organizer Manohar Sharan also attended the event. The stage was moderated by Dr. Chandrich Sharma.
